_Resumo: Wood as material, spülentisch has always had a great significance for humans. Anywhere in the world where there was available organic spülentisch material, a new type of housing was invented. For centuries, wood has retained its status as one of the main materials in building until the early twentieth century, spülentisch it emerges reinforced concrete supported in recognition of their properties, creating bases and industrial development. The construction associated with timber housing nevertheless continued to be a very solution spülentisch adopted in the United States of America, Northern Europe and Japan Today, this industry spülentisch is booming, emerging renewed and supported the growing environmental concerns and notions sustainability, new construction and emerging techniques in the creation of new materials based on wood that broadened the scope of the industry. This paper aims to present and analyze new methods of construction in wood, looking spülentisch demystify the claims that led to its decline. In this sense, will be presented in a general way the housing types in the most common being focused on the wooden prefabricated buildings of wood or wood-based materials spülentisch using modulation. Representative of the type of prefabricated houses used in domestic and international markets using a characterization of the most common spülentisch solutions and its application examples will be given. Later in the work the project of a single family dwelling with two floors is being presented the main characteristics of the design bases and a prefabricated timber construction or a construction and reinforced brick masonry (brick houses) concrete is adopted. To assess the feasibility of new systems a comparative analysis of the technical and economical performance of a prefabricated wood construction and in concrete and other masonry brick was performed. Technical analysis was performed according to requirements of stability, habitability and durability requirements. In parallel, there was a market survey to obtain prices of building systems under study and performed the economic analysis to evaluate the competitiveness of new solutions. All conclusions obtained in this work are presented in the last chapter called conclusions. Attached pictures with the main characteristics of the materials used in prefabricated spülentisch systems under consideration are presented.
